Culottes Are My Jam!
This thrift find is one of my favorites. It's not every day you come across amazing culottes. In case you didn't know, culottes are my jam! I found this pair mixed in with the skirts while thrifting Atlanta. I love how bright and summery the floral "arrangement" is.
I managed to stay pretty comfortable after stuffing my face with at a Father's Day Ethiopian feast for dinner. The partial elastic waistband came in quite handy. Yes friends, these culottes have crazy color, high waist, and elastic. They were meant for moi much like the Eiffel Tower ones. It's definitely a thrift score. Sorry about the gratuitous hand-in-pocket shots but yeah...pockets too!
I've come a long way as far as floral patterns are concerned. I remember detesting all things floral. Too doily and old fashioned for my taste but I've grown quite fond of them. Perhaps because they came back on the fashion scene in a big way and I see them everywhere! I like to be original but I'm definitely influenced by current trends.
My goal this summer is to wear skirts and dresses (or culottes) most of the time. Winter was so brutal. I just want to feel the sun on my skin, wear the least amount of clothes I can possibly wear and still keep it classy.
I wore it with another favorite thrift find -- a yellow button down shirt. It's great for color blocking and the front ties well for a faux crop top.
