{SAHM Style} Sleepy in Sequins

Sequins makes me happy so they are absolutely appropriate for SAHM style. They add the extra sparkle to my day when coffee is not enough. I pulled this sequin top out in my hazy, half asleep phase and knew I had to wear it for the day's errand running adventures.

The Good Life Begins With You

This #MyGoodLife shop has been compensated by #CollectiveBias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. A month ago, I was not living my best life. I wasn't feeling well. Needless to say, hanging out with an active preschooler was quite challenging. I went to see a doctor about a injury I had received months ago. In addition to tending to my injury, he suggested I also have blood work as it has been nearly 4 years since the previous exam.

How Intel Tablets Help Make My Summer Great

#spon: I'm required to disclose a relationship between our site and Intel. This could include the Intel Corporation providing us w/content, product, access or other forms of payment. Summer is all about living life outdoors especially after that long and brutal winter. The goal is to stay outside as long as possible. With Intel tablets I can still maintain my online life without missing a beat. Be it a music festivals, long road trips, or lazing about in the sun, I can still stay connected.

Date Night in a Thrifted Maxi Skirt

Standing in the closet searching for something to wear for date night , my eyes were immediately drawn to a recently thrifted accordion pleat maxi skirt. It's one of those items that had me asking "why would someone get rid of this?" It's a great skirt. It's well-made. It's washable.  That elastic is a godsend.  It's floaty and ethereal when I walk.  The skirt was only $4.50. This skirt is fabulous.

{City} Happy Hour at P.F. Chang's

Thank you  P.F. Chang ’s for sponsoring this post and the tasty much needed date night! We don't get out together sans V too often. Our last date was February? Gahh. We need to get out more. Together. We both have a love of alfresco dining when the weather is warm so we opted for a nice drive up to P. F. Chang's Northbrook location. They have a fantastic happy hour menu so we sampled a variety of dishes and cocktails. There's lots to choose from plus they have a great patio to soak up the beautiful sunshine and people watch.

{SAHM Style} Cut Off Jeans + Tights

Cut-off jeans and tights have been on my list of fashion trends to try. I tend to see it on younger folks with combat boots and a heavy 90s grunge vibe. As I am going for a SAHM casual look and I don't own chunky boots, I improvised. I started out by making my own cut-off jeans using a pair of Joes I had been meaning to change from bootcut to skinny . I am pretty shocked it took me this long to make a pair. Cut-offs are a much easier diy! It takes 5 seconds to cut across the pant legs. Done! "New" old jeans in under a minute. I can even knock out a pair before morning coffee.

Convertible Dashiki Dress

I've always been a fan of convertible dresses and couldn't resist this dashiki variety found over at 14th Street Vintage's FB page . In addition to feeding my love of african prints , this dress offers some refashioning fun.  You can wear it a number of different ways including as a skirt. A lot of those conversions are heavy on the arm and shoulder exposure. I have fat arm and linebacker shoulder issues that really don't matter but I'll obsess over them anyway.  Sometimes. Moving on.

Florals Meet Stripes

I do not like to wear a lot of black but I was having some trouble finding a good match for this simple skirt. Black works all the time so that's where my head was at when BAM! I spot a potted plant wearing my striped skirt so I took a cue from it and went with florals.

Girls Night In with VEEV VitaFrute

I received VEEV VitaFrute in exchange for my review, all opinions are my own. I'm an introvert that loves to party. I'm not talking about rave style. I prefer just hanging with my girlfriends. Over cocktails. Talking nonsense. Objectifying men. Pontificating. Laughing and letting the hair down. Cursing because there aren't any kids around. Going one past the two drink max. Preferably in real glasses with a long stem. The kind you don't let the kids go near.

{Vintage Style} Front Tie & Culottes

I rarely go vintage from head to toe. I try to avoid looking like I'm wearing a costume. Something about the front tie and culottes just felt right. It feels very 70s chic on a parisian vacation. The only piece I'm wearing made in this decade are the sandals. Those were a gift from mommy. I snagged them during my last Vegas trip.

5 Reasons to Love Ankara (African) Print

Just like a lot of fashionistas out there, I'm obsessed with ankara. A couple of weeks ago I was dreaming of a shopping trip to Ghana and this week the african print  dresses came to me. Even though I have quite a stash of african print fabrics, I am not likely to sew up my own clothes anytime soon. A friend was kind enough to have 2 outfits custom made for me. I emailed my vision and measurements in just enough time for my lovelies to make the Ghana to US journey with a visiting relative.
