I spent $54 in this month's thrift haul but it was worth it. Summer is coming and I need so many things. Since I've reduced, a sizable portion of my clothes no longer fit. This haul is all about comfort and basics. I'm really feeling uncomplicated - no fuss - easy on easy off clothes for summer. Georgia is about to get hot.

This is the last week of school for Violet so I'm in planning mode for our summer family adventure. I would love for us to take a road trip and explore St. Louis . I want a trip that we can all enjoy with activities for Violet and maybe squeeze in some me time too. After all, I made it through kindergartener drama and homework too!

Did you buy an ugly dress at the thrift store? Think it needs a little tweaking? I was able to turn a dated floral print dress into a modern two piece skirt set. No sewing required. I bought this thrift store dress originally because I liked the the nipped waist and back buttons. I wasn't really a fan of the print though. The length wasn't flattering either. I normally just wear it around the house. I decided to give the dress a quick refashion to see if breaking up the print will make it look less dated. 

This is a fruit from my Black Friday thrift haul  -- an Anna Sui wrap dress. It has great colors and a relaxed, comfortable fabric. Can't beat a $3 price tag either. Much better than $400. I put it in my maybe pile because of the lack of bust coverage and ended up keeping it because it was so cheap. 

When I saw off the shoulder tops popping up all over in blogs and magazines, I was sure this was a trend I would take a pass on. I have now seen the error of my ways after sewing one up with dashiki african print fabric.

Thrift store shopping is fun. It's a great experience to treasure hunt and find that one thing you can't live without. That one special piece that was dirt cheap. You can find what you're looking for plus some things you weren't looking for at all. Most of the time it's a very pleasant atmosphere. Birds are singing. Sun is shining. The thrifting community is really supportive and chill. It's a happy space but once in a while you encounter one of these jerk moves.

Just when I had given up on current brand jeans at the thrift store, I find a pair with retro style. The bottoms are extra bell and the waist is the highest ever. They are truly a blessing from the thrift gods. I've combed through several jean racks in multiple stores since dropping pounds. This is my first time coming across a current style with such a long zipper!
