White Grape Cosmo with Slim Lizzy's Cocktails

There's nothing better than receiving the gift of mommy juice so thank you Slim Lizzy's Cocktails for the prezzies that taste great in my White Grape Cosmo. Because they are so gal pal friendly, here's a special treat for you to enjoy if you're doing a mom's night in or with friends on Galentine's Day (the hot date you have with your friends before Valentine's Day).

{DIY} Flare to Straight Leg Jeans

Not only did I rediscover the trench coat dress in the other closet, I also found jeans that I absolutely loved when I thrifted them. The fit was great on my waist and hips. No back gap and the waistband is just below my belly button. The legs had a little more flare than I wanted and they were too long for the stumps. I gave them a straight leg and a shorter length with a pretty simple diy.

Revive or Recycle the Trench Coat Dress

When you find a dress that's part cape and part trench coat at the thrift store, you must buy it. That's what I told myself 3 years ago. Never wore it. It's one of the forgotten about pieces. The ones I say I'm going to totally revamp, refashion, and revive then relegate them to second closet. Second closet is a mix of stuff to sell or mend. I rarely go in there these days.

Sun-Dried Tomato + Goat Cheese Egg Muffins

The first time I made egg muffins were for the Party Bus Thrift Up . They were a big hit and I've been making a version of the sun-dried tomato and goat cheese ones ever since. You don't have to use goat cheese or cheese at all. You can use a different mixture of veggies. It's pretty much whatever's clever. Sausage. Bacon. Both. Double up on the veggies. It's all up to you.

Hydrating Dry Skin with RevelationsRX Face Masks

Many thanks to RevelationsRX face masks  for sponsoring today’s story and rejuvenating my skin! You know how personal self care gets tossed to the side when you become a parent? It becomes one of the last things on our list. I used to be religious about my Friday night manicure. Lately, there never seemed to be enough hours in the day to get it done. When the real issue is I'm not making time for it. I want to do better this year. I'm definitely working towards making self care a priority. As we all should. Treat yourself. Now let me step down off of my soapbox and show you what I did to make the best of kind of a crappy day.

{Thrift + Style} Gingham Shirt

I'm not especially fond of check patterns. Although you'd never know it by the plaid dress and diy plaid skirt of last week. It wasn't the gingham pattern that attracted me to this thrift find but the fabric. It felt great. It's silk but looks like a comfortable cotton weekend shirt to accompany jeans and loafers.

{Thrift Haul} Lilly Pulitzer, Ann Taylor and More

Ladies and maybe one Gentleman, I am under budget for a thrift haul. My goal has always been to spend no more than $20 total or $3 per item. I averaged $2.70 an item even with Lilly Pulitzer and Ann Taylor in my haul!  I'm thrifting less but I've been way over budget. Fifty bucks last month. Love my finds but yikes.

{DIY} Pink Plaid Shorts to Skirt

When I spotted the pink plaid winter shorts at the thrift store, I loved how different the color was from other tartan pieces. The fact that they were high waist culottes, even better! I tried them on several times and they just weren't working out so I made a skirt. Much improved.

Plaid Dress, Belted Cardigan and Other Oddities

The plaid dress is begging for some tweaking but at this very moment is must be worn as is. It was time to step out for Sunday brunch.  Can't be late!  Instead, I did some tucking and arranging to change the look up from the last time I wore it. I tucked the collar in and fashioned a low v-neck. Covered the puffy sleeves with a cardigan and held it all together with a thin belt.

Faux Fur for the Freezing

How happy am I to finally break out the vintage faux fur after two years in hibernation. Can you believe I found it in Vegas? Who's wearing fur out there other than my midwestern mom)?  It got cold in Atlanta which gave me the perfect opportunity to wear the jacket. I've never worn this one. It's terribly 80s with big ol' shoulders but this baby is warm!

{SAHM Style} Vintage Cape

What I love most about capes is the throw on factor. It's like wearing a blanket but a lot more fabulous. Second favorite thing is the drama of it. When I put on a vintage cape, a strut creeps into my walk. I want to call everyone "ma cherie". I feel a little 1970s Diana Ross divatude.  Publix, the post offfice, and pre-K drop ain't ready for me.

Best Tights to Wear with Dresses

My crochet tights are always a crowd pleaser. They look great with dresses and skirts and add a layer of warmth. While I've had trouble finding more pairs, they're not the only cute ones out there. I've selected a few similar styes that will give new life to your winter wardrobe.
