How to Set Up the Perfect Pie Bar

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #ShareTheJoyOfPie #CollectiveBias This is what happens when you're in the mood for pie and can't find a pie bar. I was on a rare moms late evening night out with my friend. When trying to figure out what to do, I mentioned that I'd like to sit down and just enjoy a slice or two of pie. I grabbed my phone and googled "pie bar" hoping that a bevy of choices would appear. Wrong. Nothing. There was no place to go and just enjoy pie. If you can't find it, then you must build it so the pie bar was born at home.

DIY Fashion + Beauty Gift Ideas

It's almost that time y'all. Are you just starting or wrapping up (ha!) your holiday shopping? If you're looking for unique and special gifts to give, look no further than your own two hands. You have the power to diy something heartfelt and inexpensive too.

Dried Plum and Turkey Bacon Strata

Thanks to  California Dried Plums  for providing compensation and dried plums to facilitate this bone health discussion. I like dried plums aka prunes. I use them quite frequently as a natural sweetener in green smoothies. They are very versatile in that they can be used in sauces, desserts, toppings, entrees, and simply as a healthy snack right out of the bag. As it turns out, dried plums are excellent in strata too.

DIY No-Sew Sequin Epaulets

I thrifted a turtleneck and added super easy no sew epaulets to add a little fancy to the simple, classic wardrobe staple. I can't believe I'm actually wearing a turtleneck. I've always hated the struggle of getting them over my head and hair.

Thrift Store Poinsettia Top

I found the poinsettia top in a small thrift store in Alpharetta that just so happen to be having an end of season sale. Fishnet and poinsettias??? I absolutely must have it. I did an inner squeal when I saw it. Always a good sign when sorting your yays from your nays before final checkout.

Keep Mornings Simple with a Homemade Pumpkin Spice Latte

Dryel generously sponsored today's post. Homemade pumpkin spice latte and opinions are my own. Like many of you, I've become obsessed with all things pumpkin spice. I actually crave the flavor over my normal black during the holiday season. Pumpkin spice makes everything better. At the very least, it makes mornings easier. Early mornings are my struggle. A cold early morning magnifies that struggle. Here's what I do to turn my frown upside down and appease the Grumpy Gertrude that resides inside.

DIY Solid Perfume in Vintage Compact

I found a vintage 1940s Evans compact at an estate sale. It's so fancy and ornate with rhinestones and designs etched into the gold tone metal. It has way more character than the powder compacts we have now. I like my finds to have function  so I don't feel like a hoarder . I couldn't just let the compact sit around and be beautiful forever.  It's been locked away collecting dust for over a year now. I wanted it to have purpose so I turned it into a carrier for a cute little solid perfume cake.

Why I Don't Thrift White Shirts

Crisp, stain-free white button up shirts are hard to find in thrift stores. I'm also a stain magnet therefore I usually pass on white clothes until I found this gem. The thrift gods surely blessed me. I've found my perfect white shirt.

5 Reasons to Watch Empire

This post is sponsored by Everywhere Agency; however, all thoughts and opinions expressed are my own. Every Wednesday, I look forward to watching the drama unfold on Empire. Below are the five main reasons I tune in every week. Plus, find out how you can meet Jussie Smollett at Macy's Lenox Square this Saturday.

Plan a Backyard Movie Night in 3 Easy Steps

This post is sponsored by Orville Redenbacher's Popcorn . One of the many joys of living in the south is the extended mild weather. We like to take advantage by spending time outdoors. Recently, we took our family movie night outdoors and set up a backyard theater.  We had a lot of fun and of course a lot of snacks. Setting it up and breaking it down was pretty simple too.

Date Night Essentials in a DIY Clutch Purse

This shop has been compensated by #CollectiveBias and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #BeHealthyForEveryPartofLife One of the key things I've learned as a parent is to always be prepared. That preparation extends to date night too. The husband and I were recently invited to a no kids allowed wedding therefore "forcing" us to connect sans Violet. I'm packing my date night essentials and making a stylish new clutch purse for the occasion.

What to Wear for Season Transition

We're in that changing of the seasons transition and figuring out what to wear can be a challenge. It's a winter to spring mix around here. The morning temperatures start are very low and become rather mild as the day goes on. Besides dressing for the season mix, I'm mixing prints and mixing up a mash of colors too.
