Thriftanista in the City

I found cropped flares at the thrift store. Sort of. I actually found some preteen from the 70s cast off thoroughly worn trousers. There was some extra length in the hem to let them down but I chose to keep them just the way they are.

My black Friday thrifting was insanely fruitful this year. My thrift haul has a retail value over $1K. I visited Goodwill, Park Ave Thrift, and Uptown Cheapskate.  I spent $125 but I didn't feel back about blowing the budget at all. I found a few high quality items.

Sometimes I make stuff without adhering to any particular set of rules. I just want to sew something. It's thrift store finds like this leopard print ruffled back jacket that remind me how badly I need to clean my closet. The really great pieces are getting lost in the jumble. I let out a tiny squeal when I spotted this jacket at Savers a couple of years ago. I have only worn it a couple of times since thrifting it though.

I bought an old vintage breakfast tray at Goodwill a few years ago but never used it. The avocado green and orange color scheme didn't really appeal to me. It's been tucked away in a cabinet. A part of my daily routine is to grab coffee, snacks, my phone and incidentals and cart them up to my woman cave. I had a lightbulb moment and suddenly remembered the ugly flower tray!
