I feel like I should be shaking up martinis to present to my husband after a hard day in this dress. It's home sewn so I can't tell what year it's from but the style is reminiscent of 50s day dresses. It was a surprising thrift store find.
True vintage doesn't appear very often in thrift stores nowadays. I did not hesitate when plucking it from the rack. It's comfortable and wearable for everyday. The fabric is very light and airy. The buttons are beautiful. The watercolor pink and green floral print is delicate and ladylike.
I discovered the pockets today and that's when I asked the thrift gods to please send me more just like it.
I added metallic pink mules to the look for more of an edge. Mules came back on the trend scene and I am loving it. They remind me of classic grandma slippers but kicked up a notch with a rich fuchsia sheen. It's old and new all at the same time.
I don't want to look like I'm wearing a costume when I'm in old clothes. I like my vintage to blend in with current trend.
