{SAHM Style} Everyday Sequins

I'm still without my full wardrobe and just kinda throwing on the pieces stuffed in a bag for the road trip . Today's experiment involves sequins and baroque print. I like having my sequins take full attention but I felt good about this combination. It's a great everyday SAHM look with a little extra pizzazz!

Family Travel Essentials with TMobile Free Tablet Data

This #TabletTrio shop has been compensated by #CollectiveBias and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. Family Travel with T-Mobile Free Tablet Data Having this connected Trio tablet was so essential to our family travel. It was perfect for our 12 hour journey over 2 days. We kept V entertained, mapped out our destination, and listened to books and music. We had a good time during our very long road trip. We were able to:

Short Set Not of Thrift Gods

Ladies and maybe one gentleman, this short set is a perfect example of  why I like thrift . I can get quality and affordable prices and still look good. Likely, it's been through a wash cycle or dry cleaner so I'm seeing the garment in a truer form. I don't have to worry that it's going to fall apart on me.  I mean that literally too. I wore this sucka to a Beres Hammond concert and was a busted seam away from a complete wardrobe malfunction on the lower half.

Brunching in Ankara

If I were the organized type, I would have planned out a capsule collection to wear for the next few weeks while I focus on getting situated in our new Atlanta home. But I'm not. I went to brunch instead and wore ankara! I'm cutting back the calories but I'm still very much a food lover and I cannot resist the lure of a great eating experience. I'm trying to soak up all the foodie goodness.

Sequins, Joe's Jeans and Thrifting White Whales

By now you are aware that I am a sequins fan. I prefer vintage but it's very hard to find good ones with all of their sequins intact. Not only did this top come with perfect sequins, it came with a bag of replacement sequins! I found this one during my  Atlanta thrift haul  so it gives me hope that I'll continue to find more great treasures in my new city.

{SAHM Style} Abstract Floral Dress

Everyday can't be a sexy red dress day. Most days it's casual, comfortable, and pretty low key. This SAHM house frau dress is perfect everyday wear. It has a lot of fun bright colors on a vintage abstract floral print. Plus, there's that surprise cutout in the back and deep pockets to hold essentials. It's also so easy to throw on. It gets a little wrinkly after washing but they fall away when I wear it.

Paint the Town Red in a Vintage Dress

Sound the siren. It has been found. The perfect red dress. The perfect vintage red dress. I found myself with 30 free minutes before V's class ended, I decided to stroll into the nearby Village Discount. I looked through the "better garments" first and immediately spy a hint of sequins.

Violet's FROZEN Fun Celebration

This #FROZENFun celebration has been compensated by #CollectiveBias and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. We were late to discovering the awesomeness of FROZEN the movie. We saw it for the first time about a month ago. Since that time, we've watched it at least once a day. Violet knows all the words to every song in FROZEN and I love watching her sing along. She really gets into character and belts those songs out. I've never seen her shy self so free and open. It makes me happy. My absolute favorite part is watching her let down her imaginary Elsa braid to  Let it Go .

Top 5 Thrift Stores in Chicago

In the almost 4 years of this blog's existence, I have never listed my top thrift stores in the Chicago area. It's getting down to the wire with my move and I'm thinking about all of the great times I've had in these thrift streets! Here's my list including location, why it's so fab, tips, and my favorite find from the store.

Thrifted, Gifted and Free

I was so pleased to thrift a basic tee with with great shoulder details. It's perfect for everyday wear and it has that extra touch of pizzaz I like. I was even more excited to discover it pairs well with some gifted and free items from my closet. All outfits should be so perfect and easy on the pockets.

Monochromatic Mixing in Purple

Monochromatic dressing doesn't always have to be head to toe in one color. Sometimes there's print mixing too. It provides some interesting elements to the overall look. I have gingham. I have abstract. I have grape bunches too.

How to Thrift Designer Treasures

One of the many great things about shopping in thrift stores is discovering new designers I would not be able to afford otherwise. This Savers treasure has a retail price of $297.  It's currently on Gilt for $87 . I paid $5.  It was brand new with the tags still attached. It's not a style I would normally gravitate towards. It's a bit trendy with the hi-low hem and sheer panel plus all that skin exposure! It was a great price so I figured I would do some thriftanista matchmaking. Months go by and I didn't find anyone. I needed a dress and I was running late for a party so I claimed this dress for myself. I literally shopped The Thriftanista Closet. It has pleats and pockets and is comfortably sexy.
