10 Ways to Self-Care on Game Day

Thanks to P&G for sponsoring this Game Day discussion.

I'm sure no one is surprised that I'm not really all that vested in the Big Game. However, I do like snacks. I like half time. I like snuggling on the couch. I like being in the same space as my husband. My mind wonders though. I'm there but I'm not there. So a part of my game day tradition is to practice a little self-care.

If this sounds like you too, here are some ways to take part in the fun and step away for a little "you" time. Do one or combine them all!

1. Make Art Coloring is so hot right now. Filling in mandala pages is very relaxing and low stress. Plus, it's extremely fulfilling when you have the whole page done.

2. Binge Watch Plant your tablet on your lap and catch up on favorite chick programs. I highly recommend Girlfriend's Guide to Divorce, Broad City, and Mr. Robot for binge watching success.

3. Work on Your Vision Still planning out that vision board? Try a digital version that will still allow you keep one eye on the game. Unfortunately, placing your favorite team colors on the board will not ensure a win.

4. Whiten Teeth Start a new teeth whitening regime. Crest 3D White Whitestrips Professional Effects removes up to 14 years of stains. The Advanced Seal™ Technology molds and adheres to your smile for a comfortable, no slip whitening experience. You can still root for your favorite team with no danger of breaking the seal!

5. At Home Mani Pedi Devote some love and attention to hands and feet. Take some extra time to smooth legs with Gillette Venus Swirl Razor. Flexiball technology helps you reach tricky areas, like knees and ankles.

6. Deep Clean Hair Wash Day Every few months I change up my regular Pantene and give my locs a deep clean with Head Shoulders Classic Clean Shampoo. It's the best at removing dandruff flakes, fighting dryness and cleaning product buildup.

7. Mimosa Time Sunday football and mimosas should be a thing. You'll need something to wash down all the snacks and champagne is just so festive. It will be easy to toast the winning team or drown your sorrows should that team not be who the family is rooting for.

8. Take a Nap Take little catnaps. No worries. The shouting around you won't allow you to sleep too long. Make sure you don't miss the half time show. This activity is especially great when paired with mimosas.

9. Take a Class Check out the online offerings of Udemy and Craftsy.  Both offer affordable online classes from technology to sewing and everything in between.

10. Exercise One of my goals this year is to get fit and lose a few pounds. You can watch the game and stay active by walking to get in those 10,000 steps or dancing along with every touchdown.
