I made a last-ditch effort to hold on to a couple of necklaces from my jewelry stash. I discovered a few pieces that I don't wear but I want to keep them anyway. I grabbed a can of spray paint and in under 30 minutes I was wearing a new statement necklace!
After organizing my jewelry stash, I realized I have a lot of pieces that I don't wear. I went through them and created a piles for the never worn and to be donated. You know how the heart wants what it wants? Well, that's how I feel about some of my thrift finds.
The vintage necklace from an estate sale was an unfortunate shade of green like mushed peas. I never wore it. The big magenta necklace is from a cheap store in the mall. Great color but I haven't worn it in years.
I'm doing my best to live the 3Rs in fashion. Since I wasn't ready to part with these particular baubles, I spray painted them gold. I couldn't decide which one to wear first and thought they looked good as one piece. I went with that.
Spray painting is fun. The paint took to both pieces very well. I bought the can of paint months on a whim. I didn't have a project in mind. I just knew I wanted to paint something. It's so easy to use and was ready to wear in 15 minutes! I waited 30 minutes to wear them though just to be safe.
I love the instant gratification of it all. Now I want to paint everything.
It just so happens the dress was an easy gratification project too. Do you remember how it looked with the sleeves still on? I fell in love with the color but the sleeves were a bit too much.
Are you a fan of spray painting?
