{Vintage Style} Front Tie & Culottes

I rarely go vintage from head to toe. I try to avoid looking like I'm wearing a costume. Something about the front tie and culottes just felt right. It feels very 70s chic on a parisian vacation. The only piece I'm wearing made in this decade are the sandals. Those were a gift from mommy. I snagged them during my last Vegas trip.

My top and purse were bought at the same estate sale. Together they totaled $5. Estate sales are a vintage lover's goldmine. Add that to the reasons estate sales rock list. The blouse's fabric appeals to me. It's somewhat of a mesh weave. No holes just very sheer. Perfect for the hot weather we're having during this coolish summer.

The sunglasses are also estate sale treasure. They are just the perfect bigness. I do like big. *whispers* That's what she said. Only $2 and they are the sunnies I wear the most. They block the sun and allow me to hide behind them on those days I'm not quite myself. AKA morning.

Anyway, straw bags are pretty common on the thrift scene but this one is wonderfully oversized with a batik lining plus it was specially made for the original owner in Italy. It has a story to tell.

70s vintage style

The culottes are one of my absolutely favorite thrifted items. They are super ridiculous for having mini eiffel towers on them but I love the fit and the comfort -- high waist and elastic yumminess. It came with its own top but I donated it. Somehow it seemed a bit much. Ha!

Are you rocking your vintage style?

Loving this look! I don't have any vintage pieces but I'd love try a pair of culottes like yours. :-)

I think this works because the culottes are high waisted, and hit you at the right spot. They make your waist appear tiny and that balances out the fullness of the legs of the culottes perfectly. The top is the perfect color and the front tie just seals the deal. This is very chic. I admit I was dubious because of the print of the culottes but you look great! I think it helps that you looks so confident, clearly you loved that outfit, and also you don't have my butt so you can wear that print and not look silly.
