Thrift Store Outfit // Cropped Flares

I found cropped flares at the thrift store. Sort of. I actually found some preteen from the 70s cast off thoroughly worn trousers. There was some extra length in the hem to let them down but I chose to keep them just the way they are.

When I picked them up at the thrift store, I thought the length would be a little longer on me. When I tried them on, I envisioned myself lengthening them. They grew on me as is though. I'm a big fan of bell bottoms and I'm a big fan of culottes. I get tired of folding, tucking, and hemming every pair of pants. It's nice to not have that problem.

The hem appears to have been let down once before. These pants survived a growth spurt plus 40 or so years. I find it so amazing how vintage clothes from the 70s and earlier manage to hold up so long. The clothes today can be taken out in one wash.

I also love that these pants are pull on and high waisted. I didn't know they were for kids until I looked at the worn size label inside. You can never trust size labels or aisle placement of items in thrift stores. You have to think outside of the box and go with what feels good to you.

The sweatshirt is from my Black Friday thrift haul. It's another cozy piece for casual everyday. The zippers and faux leather trims add a little more interest to the top.

It's nice to just be able to pull top and bottom on in the morning and still feel pulled together. I felt super cozy on this long awaited rainy day.

I went space age in my footwear choice. I have had these ankle boots forever. They are my favorites. They perk up any outfit. Same with the humongous cabachon earrings. They add a dressy flair to casual everyday outfits.

What have you thrifted lately?
