Skip the Dress, Wear a Tunic

It's been a while since I've worn a tunic. It used to be my favorite kind of top. It's perfect for the SAHM casual closet. It's a great alternative to wearing a dress. I love wearing dresses because they are super easy being one piece and all but when the temps dip, they're not my first choice for style and warmth. Jeans are much more appealing but they can be a bore for everyday.

Tunics are the perfect way to dress up jeans. While a lot of tunics can be pretty shapeless, this recent thrift find comes with an empire waist and cool gold military style buttons on the bodice. It's a great throw on top because it doesn't require a lot of effort but it's still pretty interesting. Also, because of the long length, I can wear low rise jeans and bend over. I can even wear it with leggings with no threat of "overexposure" of the girl bits.

I haven't been on tunic search at the thrift and just happened upon this one in the dress section. Now I can't stop looking but have not found any that I would wear. Isn't that how it always happens? If you seek, you will not find. It's thrift law.

While I was outside taking pictures my neighbor stopped long enough to offer to take pictures for me and she said the top was very cute. You know those Thriftanistas that start talking thrift speak anytime they get a compliment? Yes, that's me.

I hardly ever talk to strangers (neighbors included) but my mouth was all ready to run down prices and preach the word of thrift. However, that Chicago hawk is no joke. I managed a polite thank you and scurried inside for heat. You will likely find me here for the next few months.

LMAO! OMG, your last pic is so funny! You are so much nicer than me. I don't want anymore competition at my local Goodwill so I'm like TY and goodbye!
I love, love this tunic. It's those military buttons. It is so on trend!
