I wore a Flashdance 80s sweatshirt

When I saw this 80s beauty at an estate sale, I fell in love with the sweatshirt trend. It's been around before. Jennifer Beals in Flashdance comes to mind as putting it on the fashion map. If I get bored with it, I can rip the shoulder seams open for an off the shoulder look. Yes? *looks around for approval and finds none*

I like mine better though. I love this red. I've never seen such vibrant color and it is full of pow! It even has a nice pouch for warm hands and cell phone. The boat neck, white piping, and banded waist are nice details on an otherwise simple design.

Of course, can't beat the price at $1.50!

Sweatshirt jeans and loafers

It sure is different from the sweatshirt from my college days. That one is FUGLY! It's pea green and stiff. It's not cool at all but its held up for nearly two decades so I keep it around. I only wear it when I'm bumming around the house.

Red 80s sweatshirt

Never would I have imagined myself picking up one to wear and putting it with my real clothes and not in my pajama drawer.

Thrifted 80s sweatshirt

Just look at all the style variations now. Sweatshirts in an array of colors from vivid to muted. They come in bold graphic, bedazzled, sequined, or a combination of them all. They're super cozy and warm. You can bling them out! Add a tee or button-up underneath. Dress them up or down!

Sweatshirt trend 2013
Sweat shirt / Markus Lupfer graphic sweater, $505 / Soaked in Luxury hoody, $78 / By Malene Birger white shirt / River Island animal print top, $40 / Full Tilt owl sweatshirt / Long sleeve lace top / Studded shirt, $30 / Wildfox Couture graphic top / Topshop white top / Wildfox Couture long sleeve shirt

This is the definitely a trend I can get with. It's perfect for a mama trying to pull it together but still be functional going about the sahm life.

I guess I will have to pick up a few more, huh?

I paid under $10 for the entire look! The CJ jeans alone retail over $100.

Are you a yay or a nay on sweatshirts?

I LOVE everything about this outfit! The sweatshirt is vibrant and I love the piping. The jeans fit like a glove and the loafers are eclectic/comfy.
