Style File: Sheer maxi dress and jean jacket

I ran out for a quick trip to the grocery store. In an effort to bring a little bit of summer into fall, I pulled out the maxi dress I bought during the 75% off sale at Salvation Army. I layered up with a sweater, ankle boots, scarf, leggings, and a slip. Topping things off with a jean jacket. Turns out I didn't need so many layers for a balmy 68 degrees. I was hot! I never know with this city. I've stepped out into an icebox many a time fooled by technicolor sunshine.

Note to self: buy a longer slip.

I love layering summer and spring pieces to make them more suitable for fall and winter.

I have two great maxi skirts that I got from Value World a few weeks back. You just reminded me that I need to buy a slip for them. Visit my blog and enter my giveaway!

I normally put my summer spring stuff away because I have a crowding issue. Hopefully I will be able to merge them all.

Great outfit you put together! I like the addition of the jeans jacket and the scarf. I often find myself doing the same kind of thing if what I start out with looks too girly for me. Jeans jackets are a great way to rough it up a bit! In fact, I have my eye on one right now, in one of my catalogs. Just haven't decided if I want to take the plunge and get it or not. It's a great color, kind of deep gold, but will I wear it? :)

I layer too and then end up burning up. It's been in the 80s here. In the fall. What in the world! Cute maxi dress. Great transition outfit.
