Easy DIY projects are my favorite. I love the instant gratification. My clutch is one such project. I spiced up a thrifted grey clutch with a few coats of cobalt teal acrylic paint.
Presto. Change-o. Done!
It didn't take much paint either. You will be seeing this color on more bags, shoes, and whatever else I can think of.
What do think?
Purse flipped over to other side. Of course I didn't take a before but it looked like this pre-paint. |

Beautiful job on your clutch. I would have never thought to use paint to change it up. Thanks for sharing!

Love the contrast!...Did you treat the bag with anything prior to painting?
That's a great DIY! What was the drying time?

Thanks! Several coats of acrylic paint and done!
Nope. I looked at some tutorials online and in the end went with simple and fast. Several coats of paint and a layer of mod podge to seal.
I applied 2 or 3 coats and let it dry overnight then reapplied maybe 2 more coats let it dry. Mod podged the next day.
There's a youtube of purse painting? Youtube rocks!
Love the clutch and the color you used!
Pretty cool DIY :D
Teal is one of those colors that I always flock to. It looks great with the black and white. Would love to see the steps of exactly how you did this too. And I agree, easy DIY projects are thee best!!
