Thriftanista Style File: Blue Peplum + Pencil Skirt

I attended an Advisory Council Meeting of the Salvation Army Chicago Northside stores. It was a great experience and you will be me hearing more about that later. The first meetup of the Thriftanista Social Club is tomorrow at one of their locations. It's going to be fun. They are having a special sale and a giveaway for us. Sweet! If you want to hear more about it or keep up to date with our other events, join the club on facebook or meetup.com.

What I Wore

The sweater and skirt are both thrifted. I wore the sweater here. I think it looks better with the pencil skirt. I love the sparkle in the sweater against the neutral colored skirt.

I bought this skirt at the same time I bought the tangerine skirt. It's vintage wool too. It's really thick. It doesn't have a tag but it feels lux and it is well made. I love this length on skirts but I think it's more flattering to wear my skirts about the knee. The next time I wear it, I will hike it all the way up and belt it.

Blue/gold sweater - unknown (thrifted)
Beige wool pencil skirt - unkown (thrifted)

Tights - Hue
Pumps - Marc Fisher plus straps added by a cobbler.

Do you wear clothing even if it's not a good look for you?
Are you a Salvation Army fan?

Oh is that another name change for the series? Yep. I'm trying to meld the Thriftanista Social Club and Windy City Mama stuff together.

I'm the Blogger Spotlight on Beauty and a Baby today. Check it out!

I love this sweater! Chicago has some pretty good spots for thrifting :) I dont wear clothes that I dont feel good in. So I guess you could say my answer is no.

LOVE the skirt!
I actually shop my local Salvation Army and one other SA store when I go to that town (about 45 minutes from me). However, to answer the other question...I try to only purchase items that are a 'good look' for me; even though sometimes I miss that when putting together a look the first time.

Thank you Sherri! I know I look better in shorter skirts bur I do so love knee, midi, and long length. :)
