I really wish she would take three 2 hour naps AND sleep through the night. Yes, I'm greedy like that. I like to have my cake and eat it too. I'd like to be able to do things like clean, cook, eat, and craft now that I'm having so much good sleep. Instead, I spend the day putting her down for naps. Swaddling and rocking for a nap that could very well be 10 minutes long. I go through this routine a minimum of 5 times a day. It's exhausting. She fights sleep. She fights the swaddle. She's also getting heavier and heavier (mom's milk is good *fist pump*).
I wouldn't insist on these naps if she were chilled out but she isn't. She has about 1 hour in her before she turns into a crank monster. Why are babies like this? Why do they refuse the sweetness of a good long nap?
In case the sleep gods are reading I want to reiterate: Naps AND (not instead of) night sleep.

Maybe a little whiskey would help? For you, not her.
Honey, she's a person, not a kitten! She won't sleep that much until she's about, oh, 15!
But she will start doing things to entertain herself, and then you will get some of You back.
Hugs.

@Ellen,
Love any reference to kittens!

Achoo!
Yes, once she can sit up and entertain herself on the floor with toys and playing with her feet and hands you will have more time to do you. Saheim would cruise in his walker for hours just exploring. I feel you.
