Do Not Thrift Drab Olive

I took a gamble when I decided to thrift an olive colored skirt. Drab olive, khaki, and doo doo brown are on my DO NOT thrift list. At the time I thought I was doing the right thing and building my wardrobe basics with a classic skirt shape. Now that I have the skirt on, I realize that I kinda loathe this color.

Look at 2016 already providing valuable insight. Ha! Live and learn. I'm hoping to become even more discerning with my thrifting choices this year. Really all of my shopping choices. No rationalizing. Only buy what I truly love.

I have no idea how I ended up with matching olive green tights! Clearance pricing was probably involved. Back in the days of cold winter months in the north, I would wear them under jeans as an extra layer. Since I still had them way in the back of my dresser, I went for a monochromatic hope this makes my legs look longer look.

Bright colors make me happy so I chose a bold blue sweater to wear on top. It's like wearing a cozy blanket. It's old, broken in, and ugly in the way that I like. It has awesome 80s dolman sleeves and a nubby texture. Therefore, it's a keeper for my closet. I can't say the same for this skirt.

I wear platform ankle boots when I'm feeling especially height challenged. I've had these boots four years now and I still enjoy them. The older they get, the better they look. The leather is finally molding to the shape of my foot.

I wore this thrifted outfit to the weekly brunch with my family. Violet and I have been lazing about in pjs and sweatpants practically the whole week. It was great to get out and wear real clothes while continuing to indulge in festive eating (and drinking).
