This dress is why I thrift. I love finding pieces with details you just don't see very much anymore. It has the funky brushstroke print going on in vibrant blues and purples. It has pleats and a banded waist. Batwing sleeves and a high neck. There are even more fun details in back. This dress is all party vibe.
I knew it was special when I tried it on at the thrift store mirror and got nods of approval. On the hanger, you can't see all the goodies about this dress but on the body it really perks up.
In addition to all that's going on in front, there's an open back and criss cross closures at the waist and the neckline.
I thought about removing the mock turtleneck because short sleeves and high necks are weird to me. I don't understand it but I think it really is a design detail necessary to the dress. It matches the lower button closure too. They make sense together.
The fabric is super soft in that nice, cozy vintage way. The length is just right. It's figure flattering and fun.
I just want to do belt out Whitney Houston's "Wanna Dance With Somebody" and do a little two step in this dress.
