I'm still putting up the good fight with my thrift store budget. I'm looking in my closet to see what I can remix and refashion. I've rediscovered quite a few pieces that I'd forgotten about and some that just need a little bit of tweaking. Below you will find a list of some of the easiest DIYs I've ever done. I hope you can take inspiration and recreate your own closet.
7 DIY Ways to Update Your Spring Style
1. If you have a beginning sewing skills, you can easily whip up a a few maxi skirts. Triple the wear by pulling the skirt up over bust and belting for a sleeveless dress. Next turn it into a one shoulder tunic by pulling one side over shoulder and belting.
2. Turn those winter whites into this season's brightest colors. Have some white tees that are looking a little dull? Dye those too!
3. Perform a little sleeve surgery and turn a long sleeve into short sleeve or go completely sleeveless!
4. Paint your shoes a different color. Color it New is on sale for $20 a kit. Grab a kit and those old sandals that you can't part with but you really don't wear a whole new look.
5. Add an iron on a transfer designed by you or buy a pre made one at a craft store. Turn a plain tee into a super cute logo tee.
6. Got culottes or ill fitting long shorts? Make a flirty skater skirt! This refashion only required the sewing of two.
7. Make a skirt. Cut the top off of a dress and sew elastic around the opening and voila! You have a skirt. If you have an elastic waist dress, you can cut just above the elastic and wear. No sewing required.
