Glen Plaid Trousers and Silver Pumps

Wearing a few of my favorite things in an outfit I didn't see coming together. Glen plaid is so workplace and silver pumps are for the party. Just throwing on clothes without thinking about how they go together can be hit or miss. Sometimes it works and sometimes it does not.

This works. At least I think so.

I like things slightly off kilter. Odd angles intrigue me so I was immediately draw to the big floppy collar of the jacket and the pointy hems at the bottom. Bonus points for being new with tags at Goodwill and giving me a little arm coverage.

what to wear with plaid pants

Ankle length pants make me feel tall. Usually my pants pool at the bottom or require some kind of alteration. I can't say that I'm a fan of glen plaid so much but I really loved the shape of the 90s relic found at Salvation Army. Unfortunately, I'm noticing a lot of pocket gap which tells me..these don't fit and I need to Let. It. Go. Deja vu. New search for perfect ankle pants starts now.

I've always been partial to gold metallics but silver has come up in a big way as far as trends go. I bought (with a free shoe coupon) these last year to add a little zing to my shoe collection when I saw a whole lot of boring blacks and browns. I'm pretty sure they match everything. They're my fall back pump. Extra points for being heels that I can actually walk in and not feel like my toes are falling off at the end of the night.

Do you wear your favorite things together?

I love the lines of the top too. It's interesting and unique. I never knew this type of plaid had it's own name. I just called it big square plaid! I really like the light gray with the blue of the top.
I know you are a thrifter, but for me, pants that I like or I have a specific requirement for are hard to find. If you aren't opposed to it, try the Old Navy pixie pants. I love them! They show the perfect amount of ankle,.
