Why Thrift Stores Have the Best Jeans

I found my favorite pair of jeans this summer. They are the best jeans ever because they have all of my favorite details - high waist, super comfortable, and figure flattering.

It can be labor intensive to pull and try on so many pairs at one time. It's worth it though. Great jeans are hard to come by. So far, my summer find is the only pair in my new size that have worked out so well. It's time for me to laser focus my search again. It's getting chilly out there.

Great prices. Even expensive designer jeans are fairly cheap when purchased secondhand. I've spotted Joe's, Tory Burch, Citizens of Humanity, Hudson and AG in addition to lower cost brands like Gap, Old Navy and Levi's. All costing between $5 - $20.

Most are pre-washed. Have you found a perfect pair of jeans and then have them change after the first wash? They no longer fit the same and the color isn't what it used to be. With secondhand jeans, most likely they've already been washed so you know what they will look like all broken in.

Your favorite style is style available. As trends come and go, your favorite style may not become readily available. I'm quite fond of high waist and thigh room. That's hard to find in retail stores. Just because the style has changed doesn't mean you no longer wear it. If the cut is right on you before the trend, it will still look good on you after the trend. Let's not forget how trends repeat frequently.

You can experiment with new brands. Buying jeans at a thrift store gives you the option of experimenting with several brands all at once. There are hundreds of styles in every size but don't dare use the labeled size to determine fit. You have to try them on. These jeans from vibrant m.i.u. completely blew me away. I didn't know I was a super flare bell bottom kind of girl until I tried these on. I love my body in these jeans.

You can afford to have a tailored fit. Well tailored clothes can turn the mediocre to amazing. If the hem or waist needs a little adjusting or you want to go from boot cut to straight, you can have a tailor do that for you with all of the money you saved buying secondhand. You can also diy a jeans hem or change the pant leg yourself!
