I have a black turtleneck obsession. It's my favorite winter accessory this year. The neck coverage is greatly appreciated and black matches all the things. It's an essential basic when you have a closet full of wacky prints and colors.
I've been learning the ends and outs of Poshmark. I'm adding slowly to my closet. So far, I've only made two purchases. The first order had some challenges but I only spent about $20 so I didn't stress about it. My second purchase is this black cashmere silk blend turtleneck.
I saw one of my favorite bloggers wearing a similar one. When I went in search of it, I discovered that it was $78 retail. I'm not really open to that price so I searched Poshmark and found this one which is an older version of the same top. It had a hole that was disclosed in the description but I bought it anyway. I had already set my mind on it.
I probably could have found something cheaper in the thrifts myself but I wanted to get in on the Posh shopping fun without spending all that I had made.
I love it. The color is still rich and dark. Thrift stores are filled with faded black. It's not misshapen which can also happen given the fabric. It's soft and not too thick or thin. It's like a sweater but not bulky so it can be worn tucked in.
It was $7 and I still have the look of the blogger inspired outfit where I first saw it.
I paired it with culottes from my last thrift haul. The dark colors give off a winter vibe but the fabric is kind of thin for the season. I added thick wool tights and over the knee boots for an extra layer of warmth.
I love finding these wacky print vintage culottes at the thrift. These have extra wide flared legs that make them look like a skirt plus generous side pockets.
Topped it off with a jacket that has some great moto jacket details. I'm also wearing my hair hat (wig) which is very warm but I'm a little nervous about encountering a strong wind!
