What I love most about capes is the throw on factor. It's like wearing a blanket but a lot more fabulous. Second favorite thing is the drama of it. When I put on a vintage cape, a strut creeps into my walk. I want to call everyone "ma cherie". I feel a little 1970s Diana Ross divatude.
Publix, the post offfice, and pre-K drop ain't ready for me.
Further adding to my disco diva mood is the faux fur draping around my neck and the beautiful rich burgundy of vintage leather.
My actual outfit for the day was pretty casual. Back in the day, I was a big fan of buying clothes in multiples which is why I have the same long sleeve tee for everyday of the week. I wouldn't do something like that today but I'm glad I did 4 years ago. When in doubt or extra fuzzy in the morning, grab the black tee! They're the perfect layering piece for 3/4 length and short sleeve tees and sweaters.
The floral sweater adds more vintage vibe to the look. It's also a thin knit which make it's a great layering piece too. I can easily add a button down or chambray shirt to the mix without getting too bulky.
Broken in high waisted skinny jeans continue the old school feel and tall wedge boots complete the look.
I'm partially vintage with the cape and bag but I don't feel outdated or like I'm wearing a costume. I feel comfortable, cozy, and foxy!
Yes, my words have gone all 70's babe too.
Do you have items in your closet that bring out an alter ego?

Great find! Although capes aren't super practical (try driving a car in one with the armholes), I think they look so fab!
Very cute outfit! I feel like I'm too short to rock a full-length cape but I do admire them from afar :)
