{SAHM Style} Timeless Vintage Polka Dot Shirtdress
Of course Saks Fifth Avenue would create a shirtdress that looks great 40 years later. It has a super fly collar that I covered up this time around. Otherwise, it's pretty timeless. That's my favorite kind of vintage to thrift.

To further update the dress, I surrounded it with modern touches. The sweater breaks up the pattern a bit and gives me a layer of warmth as the fabric is rather thin. I reigned in the super a-line with my free belt from the Graceland thrift haul.
The scarf is vintage but it's in the timeless realm too. I found it at an estate sale. At the time, I thought it was rather expensive at $10 but I've gotten so much use out of it. I wear it all the time. It's cozy and always gives the perfect pop of color for any outfit.
Having a thrifted closet, makes for very interesting and unique pieces. I've never gone in search of polka dots but I've ended up with pieces in navy, black, orange, and even pink!
My only non thrift pieces are the boots and bag. Even though the prices were retail, I'm ok with that. They're both been in my closet for a few years but I haven't tired of them and I can see myself wearing them for many years to come. I wonder if they'll last over 40 years like the shirtdress.
I will definitely be trying a belted sweater combo again. I'm really diggin it. I feel very spruced up but I'm still casual and comfortable. The day was running errands and folding laundry only but definitely taking myself to lunch next time I wear it.
Are you a polka dot fan? What's your favorite polka color?
