I miss Chicago thrift stores very much. I haven't found my thrifting sweet spot so I was surprised to have lucked up on a few cozy tops perfect for layering. I almost never find tops when thrifting. In fact, slim pickings in general lately. So slim that I didn't even bother with a cart on my last visit. I grabbed a little basket instead.
Apparently that was the right move because I had quite the thrift haul.
The leather jacket, sweater, tee and scarf are some of the finds. All together they are extremely comfortable and warm. Plus I'm loving the color injection from the bright red scarf and knit t-shirt.
Normally not a fan of thrift store Target but every now and then I find a piece worthy of buying. This t-shirt is pretty basic but it's extremely soft and the red color spoke to me so I happily forked over the $2. Same goes for the scarf.
The snake print cardigan is a thin knit that I can throw on for an extra layer of warmth as I'm always cold. I wasn't completely sold on it. Yes, I do love animal print but open front cardis have never gone completely right for me. Belting helps rein in all the bulk up front. I wouldn't recommend a belt though when you're about to eat a humongous ethiopian meal. Just saying.
I was a bit hesitant about the leather jacket too. It was $7 dollars which isn't a lot of money for leather. I absolutely do not need another jacket and I need to focus on my thrifting white whale -- a leather motorcycle jacket. I may have to cough up some real money for that one.
It was quite dreary out so I knew I was definitely wearing yellow today. Bright colors are a must on days without sunshine.

This is such a perfect fall color palette! I am jealous of that jacket! I actually found a gorgeous brick red motorcycle jacket last mrch at the end of winter goodwill sale, but it was oh....four sizes to small. I bought it anyway ($3!) and gave it to my sister.

Thank you!
That is an awesome fall outfit, Troy! I have noticed the picking are pretty slim in all the thrift stores I haunt, too. Maybe after the holidays things will pick up.
Have a great week.
Thank you! The Black Friday thrifting is usually good! Can't wait.
