Staying true to my frugal self, I shopped my closet and discovered something new to wear on Christmas. I pulled my recently thrifted lemon yellow J. Crew sweater and a new lace pencil skirt that has aged 2 years in my closet. Plus, I swiftly removed tags on my new envelope clutch for a classic yet edgy holiday outfit.
As Ms. Violet is on vacation, she was back at her photobombing antics and managed to get in on pretty much all of the pictures I took. Ahhh, the holidays.
I went to the mall last week for V's annual photo with Santa. I breezed through J. Crew as I have never actually been in one. I managed to resist the urge to buy a little something for myself. Twas hard. Everything is gorgeous in there.
Instead, I went home and shopped my closet. Gave the sweater a fresh dryel and used it as the starting point for pulling a look together.
I should have donated the lace skirt ages ago. It's a timeless classic so I keep it around. I never wear it. It's always been a bit saggy in the waist area. It's black. I don't wear a lot of black. Fortunately, the extra waist room worked in my favor for the day's overindulgence. My sweater and earring provided the color pops I'm more attracted to.
I was excited to pull out snow leopard pumps simply because it's the end of December and there's no snow or slush to battle as we headed out to our friend's house for our first Atlanta Christmas. *raises the roof*
My sister's Christmas present to me was this lovely large clutch in black with gold metallic details and the most fantastic closure that took me about 5 minutes to figure out. Pre-coffee brain fog is real.
