Absolutely did not do a lot of blogging this year but I have spent more time in thrift stores. Adding some extra change to the pockets and helping people find their "it" has been my focus. Most of my favorites have sold. I had some 'le sigh hoarder' moments but I've learned to keep it moving. I can't keep it all and money is nice.
These were my absolute favorite thrift store finds of 2018:
The armadillo bag is definitely the uglies on my list. It's one of those vintage pieces that you just have to check off as having thrifted.
The Judith Leiber bag is the most beautiful. I found it in one of the grimier stores I visit which made it so much more thrilling. It was in pristine shape inside and out.
Vintage Frye boots have been on my thrift list for a long time. The ones I found are from the 1970s and my size so I can wear them until they sell.
Vintage Gloria Vanderbilt jeans that fit me perfectly. They were soft, broken in and cover the belly button like I like them. Super long on me so I didn't feel too bad when they sold almost instantly on eBay.
A vintage Olga nightgown. This is the second time I've found one of these. I sold one that I had in my own personal closet. I didn't think I would ever find another one that was just as perfect but I did. I imagine that it's living a lovely life in some costume department for a play or a movie.
J. Crew Snowden sweater coat. Sweater coats are my obsession right now. I'm not alone in loving this trend because it was another fast sell on eBay. I didn't even have a chance to wear it.
The vintage Panasonic point-o-matic pencil sharpener is the weirdest piece that I've ever fallen in love with. I was so impressed with the sharpness of our pencils. They don't make 'em like this anymore. If I find another one, I'll keep it.
A Dex faux leather moto jacket that I picked up in while thrifting Florida. I bought it specifically to sell but it fits so well that it's 50% in my closet and 50% in my Poshmark closet. It's a great 'going out' jacket.
J Brand bell bottom flares that were too long for my stumpy legs. Altering the length on jeans like this would ruin them. The person who bought them was replacing their old ones.
I found the vintage Gunne Sax dress in a small church thrift store. There are little unicorns all over it. It's a highly desirable piece for vintage lovers. Not really my style but I did try it on and thought it was fun to wear. I can totally see the appeal. Very Laura Ingalls Wilder.
If you'd like to see what I'm currently selling, you can find my closet on Poshmark, eBay and Etsy. Happy thrifting in the new year!
