Summer is here which means its dress and sandal season. Legs are on display majority of the time. I know I'm not alone in saying "I am here for all of the love that flat shoes and sandals are receiving." Flat sandals don't have to be worn with super casual outfits only. They can be styled with dresses and skirts too and still look fabulous.
I love heels but can't take the pressure. I am always harping about my short legs *cue tiny violin*. Heels have been the tried and true road for a quick fix. My toes are so traumatized though that they push right to the very front of the shoe and try to escape as I teeter about in a slight squat. Attractive. I know.
Luckily, several flat sandal options have come on the scene and opened up a whole new stylish route.

When styling a dress with flat sandals, consider these tips:
Tip #1 - Leg show
Make sure the gams are looking their absolute best. Sally Hansen Waxing strips* remove unwanted hair fast. It works on short hairs and reduces the appearance of hair regrowth. They're easy to use when rushing out the door. You warm the strips with your hands then apply and remove. My legs look and feel silky smooth afterwards. You can find Sally Hansen hair removal products at Target. There's no mess and legs remain hair-free up to 8 weeks. I use the microwavable eyebrow, face & lip wax kit for small jobs and those lone hairs that manage to escape the wax strips.
Tip #2 - Elongate the legs
Keep your dress knee length or above to give the illusion of longer legs. If this is not a concern for you, yay for you! Feel free to go with any length you like. Maxi length dresses are particularly flattering with a low heeled sandal.Tip #3 - Let your dress be the stunner
Go for an understated shoe that will put your dress out there as the statement piece. I'm a big fan of shoes with lots of embellishments and details. I like to keep a balance though. I save the bejeweled, colorful flat sandals for simplistic tee and jeans outfits.Tip #4 - Opt for comfort
The biggest perk of rocking a flat is the comfort. While a pointy toe may be the obvious choice for 'dressy' dresses, it's not the only option. My toes don't come to a point so a pointy toe can be just as brutal as a stiletto. A low wedge will add definition and shape while keeping feet from arching unnaturally high.*If you're new to waxing, check out the Sally Hansen how to videos and information section for help finding the right product for your needs.
