Sans Bra in a Dashiki Halter Dress

I recently had a conversation with a friend about how I'm uncomfortable wearing clothes that expose my shoulders, back, and arms because I'm extra meaty on top. It was last year when I wore a t-shirt underneath the dashiki dress. This year, I'm not even wearing a bra! My fabulous and forty self esteem is up (ha) and that's really all that matters.

I feel pretty body confident in the convertible dashiki dress worn halter style. I've been singing the same old song for so long I forgot to stop and reevaluate the situation. I actually like the dress better than I did with the tee underneath. Last time, I put a lot of focus on ways to wear it and cover my bra straps because I couldn't fathom not wearing a bra. Eek!

The straps of the dress are super long. I was able to wrap it around me and then use the tails to somewhat hoist the DDs up. It was rather freeing. I haven't gone braless in at least a decade. I don't think it will work all summer long but glad to know the option is there.

While I was looking for jewelry to wear, I discovered my long lost lion pin and had to find some way to work it in. Front and center is a good of a place as any. Lions and african prints belong together or at least they do in my world. It appeals to my thrift kooky side.

I changed up my footwear too. I completed the look with natural colored wedge sandals which are a better match than the silver sandals worn previously.

All remixes should turn out this good.

Do you wear halter style dresses? Are you braless this summer?

I'm inspired that you went braless as it isn't obvious at all. Talk about major comfort. Great job styling the top. I'm adding this type of dress to my thrift wish list.
