Thrift + Style: Sequin Skirt

Uhm...yeah I'm in the denim shirt from Gimme Five Friday. It's not called the perfect shirt for nothing. I wear it with everything even a sequin skirt. Yes, again. I'm here for sequins all day everyday. I found this sequin skirt at the recently renovated Salvation Army Clybourn location. It was a bit pricey at $7 but better than the retail price of $85 and it was brand new.

I wore it Thursday night on what may have been the last bare legged scene of the year. The city was gorgeous and warm and I went out for food, drinks, and a little bit of dancing with the homie, Girl Get A Life.

THRIFT A Sequin Skirt

This is a white whale of a thrift score right here. Keep your eyes open and have patience.

If you find a sequin dress perhaps it could be a skirt? Even if you don't sew, a sewing friend would probably help you since it's a very simple DIY.

Check your sequin skirt thoroughly. Sequins are very fragile.

As sequins are fragile, look for one that can be hand washed so you don't end up spending a lot of cash for dry cleanings.

No need to try it on. Doesn't fit? Sell it to a sequin whore such as myself.

STYLE a Sequin Skirt

how to wear a sequin skirt

Let the sequins be the show and pair with a simple shirt or tee.

Pump up the look a bit more with statement jewelry.

Add an oversized chunky sweater and tights if cool weather has hit your neighborhood.

Go monochromatic and wear the colors of your sequins only.

I love this! I love the skirt. I like the hair up too. The over all look gives you a very long, lean silhouette.

I want to add a few sequin pieces to my wardrobe. I have this amazing backless navy and gold sequin dress that I'm waiting until the right event to wear but I'd love get a few pieces that are more casual.

Love your 'doesn't have to fit' theory!!! And isn't it wonderful to have the chance to say 'bit pricey at $7'. You scored big time here. Well done. It looks amazing.
