I’ll admit it. It has been a while since I actually sat down and watched the entire movie. As much as I adore classic films, there are parts of the movie—specifically the cringy portrayal of Mr. Yunioshi—that have aged like milk out in the hot sun. It’s hard not to wince when those scenes pop up on screen.
And yet... the effortless charm of Holly Golightly remains undeniable.
Audrey Hepburn’s portrayal of Holly is iconic for a reason. Her chic, bohemian spirit, her cute little minimalist apartment with repurposed decor, and her elegant clothing including her simple, unbothered sleep ensemble—oversized white tuxedo shirt, tassel earplugs, and that famous blue eye (literal) mask—are permanently etched into fashion history.
With Halloween right around the corner, I decided to recreate Holly’s famous sleeping outfit with a fun, practical and slightly quirky twist!

Sturdy for a night out but won't last forever. Pair it with an oversized crisp white shirt, statement tassel earrings and you’ve got a chic fun instant outfit.

There’s just one tiny problem with Holly’s sleeping outfit... there’s no purse involved!
If you’re wearing this to a party or a night out, where are you supposed to put your keys and such? You can't exactly carry around a bedside table.
My solution? Turn Holly's companion Cat into a functional purse!
I took a regular cat plushie and transformed him into what I like to call a Frankenpurse. By carefully opening a seam along the back, adding hardware rings, creating an inner pouch lining out of a lightweight organza bag, and attaching a chain strap, I gave Cat a brand new job.
Not only does this solve the practical problem of carrying my essentials, but it also adds a touch of whimsical flair to the entire outfit. Honestly, why stop at Holly Golightly? A plushie purse brings such a playful, unique energy to any casual outfit!
