DIY Flash Cards With Printed Instagram Photos

As part of a sponsored post for Collective Bias®, I made personalized flash cards with print Instagram photos using the Walgreens mobile app.

Instagram is my favorite social media. I am THAT person who takes a picture of everyday life which normally means food, thrift finds, and V.  Since my everyday is spent with Violet, I have quite the collection of photos of her. Pretty sure I've taken at least 1 Instagram photo everyday in the past year. Side Note: I just hit my 1,000th instagram posts!

I don't know if I'll be on Instagram 20 years from now so I printed some of my photos using the Walgreens app. You can connect Instagram and Facebook accounts and print photos from your phone that can be picked up in store.

I turned my photos into a learning tool for V -- personalized alphabet flash cards. It's a great way to learn words, take a trip down memory lane, and make up new stories created with the flash card art and real life photo combo. Also, when she's older it will be a fun memento of her childhood.

If the kiddies have that alphabet thing down, you can make a cute adult set to use as a vision or inspiration board. For example, a selfie photo with a magazine picture of the dream house you want to live in.

Steps:

1. Jot down words that you want to use for each letter.

2. Find photos that can be used to represent the words chosen.

3. Print Instagram or Facebook photos using Walgreens app.

4. Match photos to card.

5. Glue and decorate cards with mod podge and trim (I didn't add additional trim because I plan to laminate and preserve them for later).

Done!

What an awesome idea! I bet my kids would be way more interested in the alphabet if their faces were on the flash cards.
