I love the twists and turns that life takes. At the last Thriftanista Social Club meetup, I walked away with awesome finds (yay, thrifting) but I also connected with someone, set myself up for success next year and will be helping some one else achieve their goals too.
My everyday life has become quite challenging. I'm finding it hard to keep it all together and I've been feeling very overwhelmed and lacking energy to do anything. It could be the weather. It could be adjusting to my ever changing 2 year old. It could be the stress of the holidays or the fact that the laundry has piled up once again. I've been feeling very deflated and without goals and running in circles like a chicken with its head cut off.
The last meetup really changed me though. After 2 hours of thrifting, I sat down with another thriftanista to gab about our finds and stuff our faces at brunch. I was not expecting such a change to my energy. We somehow ended up talking about goals and the things we want but never put into action. For me, that's more sewing, more focus on self employment, more attention to fitness and healthier lifestyle. By the time we were done brunching, we had decided to support and help each other achieve our goals in 2013 and set up a date to flesh out what our goals will actually be. We became accountability buddies!
I knew I was in for some shopping fun but I had no idea so much more would come from the experience. With one conversation, the fire was lit and I am ready for the new year with new goals and with new spirit.
I was selected for this opportunity as a member of Clever Girls Collective, and the content and opinions expressed here are all my own.
