Thrift + Style: A Leopard Print Romper

Aww yeah, it's the return of the diy romper. The thrift store gods were with me when I spotted the jumpsuit last year. It was everything I like in a great thrift store find -- timeless, offbeat, and animal print! I loved it even though it had sun fading on the legs. I cut the pant legs off and voila, a new romper.

Thrift Tips

Shoulder pads are easy to remove. Don't let them deter your purchase.

Think about ease of wear.  How much time do you want to take going to the bathroom and such?

Do some bending and sitting when trying on the romper for a proper butt cheek check. I only say this because my diy romper is a tad too short.

Look for one that resembles a dress you would wear. If you would wear it as a dress, you'll like it as a romper too.

If I weren't wearing one myself, I'd say onsies rompers are for babies. Since I am wearing one, make sure there are no cute animals or teeny little pastel colored flowers on it.

Style Tips

how to wear a romper

Add some definition to the waist with a fierce statement belt.

Should you own a pair of crocs, don't wear them with romper. Pair with a thong sandal (not flip-flop) or a heel (for the grown & sexy among you).

Think of a romper as a mini dress. If you don't do mini dresses, this is probably not the trend for you.

Consider short or tight. Not both.

  4. I love rompers, but ones with a good fit and grown style can be hard to find. I really like the idea of cutting the pant legs off. How did you get the shorts to look so even?
