I ran out for a quick trip to the grocery store. In an effort to bring a little bit of summer into fall, I pulled out the maxi dress I bought during the 75% off sale at Salvation Army. I layered up with a sweater, ankle boots, scarf, leggings, and a slip. Topping things off with a jean jacket. Turns out I didn't need so many layers for a balmy 68 degrees. I was hot! I never know with this city. I've stepped out into an icebox many a time fooled by technicolor sunshine.
Note to self: buy a longer slip.
I love layering summer and spring pieces to make them more suitable for fall and winter.
ReplyDeleteI normally put my summer spring stuff away because I have a crowding issue. Hopefully I will be able to merge them all.

Thanks Sarah! Love your blog!
DeleteGreat outfit you put together! I like the addition of the jeans jacket and the scarf. I often find myself doing the same kind of thing if what I start out with looks too girly for me. Jeans jackets are a great way to rough it up a bit! In fact, I have my eye on one right now, in one of my catalogs. Just haven't decided if I want to take the plunge and get it or not. It's a great color, kind of deep gold, but will I wear it? :)
ReplyDeleteGo for it, Jeanine!
DeleteI layer too and then end up burning up. It's been in the 80s here. In the fall. What in the world! Cute maxi dress. Great transition outfit.
ReplyDeleteThank you. Bottomed dropped over here. Now it's cold!
