Thriftanista Style File: Turquoise peasant dress with snakeskin pumps

I was invited out to the Chicago launch of Michael Natkin's Herbivoracious vegetarian cookbook. We gathered at Heaven on Seven for drinks and samples from the book. De.li.cious. I love vegetables and I struggle with finding new and creative ways to serve them. I got a lot of inspiration just flipping through the book.

SN: The author is super friendly and a thrifter!

What I Wore

The dress I'm wearing is so bright and vibrant in person. I don't think the picture does it justice. I bought it a while back at Salvation Army with plans of selling it because it's a little tight in the bust. I had it cleaned recently so I put it on to take pictures of it for the etsy shop and well....

I kinda love it and don't care about the bust tightness.
It also has nice puffy sleeves and an elasticized waist.

I'm keeping it for now.

*twirls around*

I couldn't decide on red and turquoise or purple and turquoise so I put them all on.
Google my rebel! <<<RHOA reference

Ignore the hanging thread. I was running out of the door and had no time to snip it.
Red necklace - bought in Kenya
Peasant dress - unknown (thrifted)
Purple belt - unknown
Faux snakeskin print - Damita K (thrifted)
I got a lil fancy with my nails. I tried to create a line down the middle of the nail with even circles. Of course, that did not happen but I like that they are all a little different on each nail. Adds character.

Well look at that. I match the book! Ha!

    1. Thank you.

I feel so limited. My hubs is very selective in what he will eat so I keep making the same things over and over. Blah.
