Thrifted, Gifted and Free

I was so pleased to thrift a basic tee with with great shoulder details. It's perfect for everyday wear and it has that extra touch of pizzaz I like. I was even more excited to discover it pairs well with some gifted and free items from my closet. All outfits should be so perfect and easy on the pockets.

Thrifted

When I first laid eyes on this tee, I thought it was vintage. It has shoulder pads and the funky, wing things have an old school feel. The label looks very current though. I wanted to learn more about the brand but sadly the name came off in the wash. I don't know the brand but I discovered (1) it was probably cheap affordably priced retail and (2) it was new when I thrifted it. Score!

I like black and white to have a little color. Since I didn't have a big colorful statement necklace to make up for a lack of color, I improvised. I wore 3 necklaces to provide that punch of color I was seeking. Big bag of estate sale jewelry for the win!

The leather bag is one of my pricier thrift finds at $17. It's the perfect everyday bag though and can be worn as a messenger or a backpack which is how I justified the splurge.

Gifted

The thing about gifted items is that it may or may not have been what you're looking for but you appreciate the kindness. You make it work. I'm not one to go for an all black and white ensemble. I do like that the skirt has a drawstring waist and can accommodate an after dinner tummy. It's also very full which works well with my body.

The tee and the skirt together seem to be meant for each other. When I wear them, people think I'm wearing a dress!

Free

Free is good. Like most people, I am a fan. I get a lot of wear out of these snakeskin print sandals as they have a walkable heel and they're pretty neutral. They go with everything. Definitely one of the best freebies I've ever received.

Have you ever been thrifted, gifted and free?

I love this outfit! That tee is everything I have to say and the heels, I wish, were in my closet! Love it. I would also love for you to join the Thrift Sisters link up happening today, at www.thriftingdiva.com. The purpose of the link up is to highlight thrifted items or favorite thrifty pieces and I believe this is a FAB outfit for inclusion.
