The Beautiful Ones

I spent the weekend with so many beautiful people. Friday, I met a group of lovely crafters at Etsy's Craft Party. There were parties all over the US. I attended the one at Inkling Shoppe in Chicago.

The party included everything you would need to craft away: scissors, glue, fabric, trims, buttons, cupcakes, and wine!

I decided to bring the project that has been floating through my head. I wanted to cover my old Beaters and make them beautiful again. The party was 2 1/2 hours so I had loads of time to knock it out and wear them out the door. I made 1 shoe beautiful and got bored. (SN: This is why I have so many UFOs -- unfinished objects). Le Sigh.

Left: Fascinator I worked on (UFO)
Right: I need to clean up my edges and do the other shoe.

I started a fascinator but became more interested in finishing my cup of pinot grigio and chatting with Natalie (Leader of BurdaStyle's Chicago Club).

Natalie (Jill of all Crafts), Kpoene' (Craft Queen Hostess who made her dress out of lace she dumpster dived), and Moi.

Saturday, I spent the day with just one beautiful girl. She's a little cranky though. She has a tooth coming in. Yeah!!! for the tooth, boo-hiss for the discomfort. She also has some nasal congestion. I'm not sure it's a full blown cold though. Is it, mamas? Is it related to the tooth?

The best part of the day was when she knocked out in the new Boba. I had a sweet 45 minutes of peace. V needed it too. She hasn't been sleeping well.

She's sleeps. Hurrah!!

Sunday, I went to The Make-Up Show. I won a ticket from the ChiTown Fashionista (wooohoooo!). SN: She's my favorite Chicago fashion Blogger. I love makeup and really wish I was a person who could do full face everyday and of course know what I was doing. I didn't leave with anything. I am now regretting that. A lot of the products were discounted too. The introvert in me got overwhelmed by all the gorgeous beauties clustered around every booth.

I ended the day at my sister's house with my beautiful family minus Miss V and Daddy V. They had a daddy/daughter day.

How was your weekend?
Who were the beautiful people you spent time with?

Fun weekend.
Saturday morning I got up early b/c some chairs I had reupholstered were delivered. I was not happy with the way they turned out so spent an hour arguing with upholstery place. Spent rest of day running errands in burbs.

Sunday had dinner with the fam and watched my 3 yr old nephew attempt to wash a car. Maybe we can arrange a marriage between him and V! :) Though, I'm sure she's already spoken for.

I would have loved to go to that makeup show! No free stuff?

Look at you, Miss Social! I miss my baby far too much during the week to spend that much time without him during the weekends. So, I roll together being social by bringing the little one along. For him, we had swim lessons on Saturday and music class on Sunday. For us, we had a baseball game Saturday night and lunch with dear friends on Sunday. Lots of fun, all around!

Teething. I read somewhere that it's a fallacy that it comes with a cold. What happens is, it's hard work and wears down resistance so kids get colds TOO. Treat both.

This weekend I was sick and lazy! Saturday all I did was read, nap, hit the dollar store, church. Sunday I lazed, napped, walked a bit, read a bit, and we watched Dresscue Me and a dumb movie (Country Strong) on demand.

Woo hoo!

Shaking this cold, and I'm not even teething!

@Girl Hmmm, how many goats can your brother provide?

@Baby Shopaholic I want a redo on the makeup show. I want new product. I looked and did not find freebies. Boo.

@Nilsa Gosh I was so excited about my day away. I needed a break real bad. I want to do swim lessons with V. She loves the water. I have to learn how to swim first though.

@Ellen Feel better. Sounds like a great weekend though. V has been spending time with other kids too so she may have picked something up from the outside. She's passed it on to E so now I have to deal with the dreaded Man Cold.

Man cold! Escape now. Tell him you're going away and come stay with me.

@Laila I'm more crafty in head too! I'm trying to do small projects since I can't seem to get any garment sewing done. The Hostess for the etsy party is planning more meetups. She's very good at guiding a project. I'll let you know when she schedules something else.
